Actually in relation to dark souls the longsword is just wrong. A basty sword is technically a sort of longsword, yes, but this does not mean all longswords are that type of swords, it's like saying that because a stiletto dagger is a dagger that means all daggers are stiletto daggers. Its something that really bugs me in games like Dark Souls 2 where there is 1 long sword and 1 b.astered sword and they are different in design and length.
